The American Cancer Society
In addition to our
international philanthropies, the Beta Psi Chapter of DPhiE has adopted
the American Cancer Society as a philanthropy.
In today's world, 1 in 3 women develop invasive cancers over the course of their lives. It is important to us as a sorority
to support research dedicated to finding and providing treatments, vaccinations, and ultimately cures for cancer. Each fall
our chapter collects donations and participates in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Boston. This is a noncompetitive
walk to help fight breast cancer and provide hope to people facing the disease. The proceeds from this walk supports the
American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.
Each year, we have been able to increase our goal and increase the amount of money we raise for the American Cancer Society. Over the past two
years alone our chapter has raised a combined total of $5,000.
