The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa & Associated Disorders

In 1985, the Delta Phi Epsilon International Sorority was the first Greek organization to officially pledge itself to the cause of combating eating disorders and the marketing of negative body images. It accomplished this through the adoption of the National Assocation of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) as one of its international philanthropies.
ANAD itself was the first non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the problems of eating disorders in the United States. It currently provides a myriad of services including a counseling hotline, support groups, and referrals for patients and their families. Additionally, ANAD provides education and has campaigns to bring attention to the dangers of diet products, as well as the dangers of advertisements that promote unhealthy body image. Our donations through Delta Phi Epsilon help to keep all of ANAD's programs and services free to anyone affected by eating disorders. In addition to raising money, Beta Psi is committed to raising awareness of eating disorders on the Brandeis campus and holds an annual ANAD candlelight vigil during the spring semester
For more information about the eating disorders, treatment, and how you may promote self-acceptance through ANAD, please visit the ANAD website .
